Alright is a photographic series and text contribution created for the 2025 edition of TrAP’s publication “10 Undersøkelser”, which this year explores the theme of hope.
10 Undersøkelser is the annual publication by Transcultural Arts Production (TrAP), which each year explores a current and contested concept within a multicultural society.
The 2025 issue brings together ten voices from the arts and cultural field around the theme of hope. The publication was printed by Amedia, Norway, in an edition of 53,000 copies, and distributed as a supplement in Klassekampen on September 27, 2025, as well as made available in art institutions and libraries across the country.
The work consists of 29 photographs made between Pakistan and Norway, reflecting on how hope can exist within contradiction, distance and everyday gestures. The images move between intimacy and observation, between private spaces and public landscapes, tracing quiet moments where resilience and belonging take form.
For me, hope is not a matter of optimism or comfort, but what Cornel West describes as deep hope — the ability to face darkness while still choosing connection, solidarity and the next step forward.
The project was published as part of 10 Undersøkelser 2025: Håp, alongside contributions from Namra Saleem, Wesam Almadani, Manar Al-Zurkany, Rian Adam Sadiq, Mohamed Mohamed, Sadik Qaka, Soroka Soroka, Jassen Hindi and Sarah A.
Editorial team consisted of Hilde Ghosh Maisey (publisher), Namra Saleem (editor), Selma Benmalek (assistant editor) and João Doria de Souza (graphic design).
